Day 4, February,2008

Aboutrika

Mohamed Aboutrika is a famous Egytptian footballer who is known and praised throughout his own country and other neighbouring countries for his technical skill and excellent vision of the football field. He is also described as joint top scorer for the pharaohs with four goals to his credit.
A graduate of Cairo University with Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy, he is a play maker, in fact a midfielder attacker not only for the Egyptian club of Al-Ahly but also the Egyptian national football team

According to the Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopaedia, Aboutrika protected against Israel’s 10 day blockade of Gaza by wearing a T.shirt reading ‘’sympathy with Gaza’’ and also through displaying political slogans during football play. In that way he identified himself with the Palestinian cause and Palestinian people. He is a humanist and sympathizes with children of Gaza strip who were then under siege.
